Alabama to Host Heavyweight Boxing Match

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder will fight Chris Arreola in Birmingham in July, according to AL.com.

The 30-year-old Tuscaloosa native will take on California's Chris Arreola on July 16 at Legacy Arena. Arreola has a is 36-4-1 record, but has not lost in almost two years. Most recently, Wilder knocked out Artur Szpilka in the ninth round at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Before that, he successfully defended the title twice in Birmingham against Johann Duhaupas at the Legacy Arena and Eric Molina at the Bartow Arena.
