Details Announced for 73rd Annual State Farm Magic City Classic

The State Farm Magic City Classic presented by Coca-Cola announced today that tickets are now on sale for the 73rd annual event.  The largest black college football game in the country will take place at Legion Field on Saturday, October 25th, when Alabama State University and Alabama A&M University will battle it out for bragging rights.    

Reserved tickets are $25, while general admission tickets are $20 and can be purchased online at www.themagiccityclassic.com.  Tickets can also be purchased at Legion Field or ASU and AAMU ticket offices.  Additionally, tickets for the pep rally are on sale and are $12.  The Pep Rally will be held October 23rd at 7pm at Regions Field.

“We are excited to kick-off ticket sales for this exciting event,” stated Billy Rodgers of the State Farm Magic City Classic.  “We anticipate a lot of excitement as we announce this year’s celebrity ambassador and post-game concert in the coming months, as this Classic is shaping up to be one of the best yet.”

 The State Farm Magic City Classic brings fans and celebrities from around the country to watch as Alabama State University and Alabama A&M University compete for a potential spot in the SWAC Championship.  Fans can also enjoy the McDonald’s Magic City Classic Parade and the Coors Light Tailgate Party on Saturday morning.  Kick-off is at 2:30pm on Saturday, October 25th, and the always-anticipated halftime will feature the Marching Hornets and the Marching Maroon and White Band.

Also at halftime, both university presidents will honor this year’s celebrity ambassador, who will be announced at a later date.  Previous ambassadors include Ice Cube, Bootsy Collins, LisaRaye, Sinbad, Wendy Williams, Charles Barkley and Vivica A. Fox to name a few.

Back by popular demand, another big highlight this year is a concert that will take place on the field immediately following the game. The famed artist performing will be announced at a later date.  Concert admission is included in the price of a State Farm Magic City Classic game ticket.
