Featuring seven of the nation’s top-30 teams, the 2013 Southeastern Conference Women’s Golf Championship is set to take place this Friday-Sunday at Greystone Golf & Country Club in Hoover, Ala., hosted by the SEC and the Alabama Sports Foundation.
Play on the par-72, 6,401-yard Founder’s Course begins at 8am CT each of the three days. An awards presentation will take place immediately following the final round on Sunday.
This is the first of four years that the SEC Women’s Golf Championship will be hosted by Greystone in Hoover, as the SEC has inked an agreement through the 2016 event.
Admission to the event is free and open to the public. Live scoring can be found through www.GolfStat.com or the GolfStat mobile applications.
Alabama is the defending NCAA Champion and enters the event as the nation’s No. 2-ranked team. Arkansas checks in at No. 6 nationally, while Florida is No. 7. Vanderbilt is No. 8, giving the SEC four teams ranked among the nation’s top 10. Georgia is ranked No. 18, Texas A&M is No. 24 and LSU is 30th.
Auburn has won three of the last four SEC Women’s Golf Championships, while Georgia has won a league-leading 11 conference titles all-time.
