The 5th Annual Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama weekend will be presented April 25-27. One of the highlights of this events is the 2014 Legacy Indy Lights 100 races.
ZOOM Motorsports announced today that Legacy Credit Union will be the title sponsor of the 2014 Legacy Indy Lights 100.
New this year, the Legacy Indy Lights 100 will feature two races over the three-day weekend. Legacy Indy Lights 100 Race #1 is set for Saturday, April 26th, and Legacy Indy Lights 100 Race #2 will take place Sunday, April 27th, before the event’s main race.
Now, in its 13th season, the Indy Lights presented by Cooper Tires is an essential stepping-stone for drivers and teams striving to compete in the Verizon IndyCar Series and features some of the brightest young talent in racing today. Racers will compete using single-seat, open-wheel vehicles powered by 3.5 liter, normally aspirated spec engines, capable of speeds up to 190 mph on superspeedways.
“Legacy has been a fantastic partner with us since the inaugural race in 2010, and we’re thrilled to have them again as the title sponsor of the Legacy Indy Lights races,” stated Rick Humphrey, vice president of ZOOM Motorsports, the exclusive event promoter at Barber Motorsports Park. “With the Legacy Indy Lights 100 double header as part of the event weekend this year, the on-track action at the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama will be second to none. And on top of that, we have a total of eleven races throughout the three day weekend, so fans are in for a fun weekend for sure.”
