2025 Bridge Builder Classic

HBCU Basketball is back in the Port City! The Bridge Builder Classic takes place at the Mitchell Center on the campus of the University of South Alabama on January 20. This is the fourth year for the classic featuring two Historically Black Colleges and Universities battling it out for the Bridge Builder Classic trophy. This year, the Thorobreds of Kentucky State University host the Tigers of Benedict College.  

Before the big game, four local high schools will take to the court to showcase the local talent.

2025 AHSAA State Bowling Championship Tournament

Bowlero Mobile

January 30 - 31

This two-day varsity event features 16 girls' and 16 boys' teams in a state championship tournament format. The competition will take place at Bowlero Mobile (formerly Camellia Lanes).

 

2025 Hal Williams Invitational Golf Tournament

Magnolia Grove Golf Club

February 9 - 11

This annual invitational is a 54-hole national golf tournament featuring top college teams from various major conferences across the country. This popular event is co-hosted by the University of South Alabama Men's Golf Team and is the season-opener for many players.

Tournament play is Sunday, February 9, through Tuesday, February 11, from 8 am to 2 pm. It is open to the public, and admission is free.
