It will be pedals to the metal at the 2nd Annual Mobile Cycling Classic in south Mobile County. This intense, fast-paced 2-day event will take place at Commerce Park on August 29-30. It will be an exciting weekend of racing with cyclists from all over the region as they compete for cash prizes.
Sanctioned by USA Cycling, the Mobile Cycling Classic will feature a Criterium (Crit) on Saturday, August 29 beginning at 3:00 PM which will also serve as the Alabama State Crit Championship. This series of races, which will last between 20 and 60 minutes, will be divided by various skill categories for men and women. Cyclists will make numerous laps on the course in a relatively short time frame. This relatively easy course is wide open with very little technical skills needed and nice smooth pavements.
?On Sunday, August 30, fans can catch a glimpse of riders as they compete in the circuit race. This circuit will take riders on a 1.7-mile loop with a 180 degree turn and a short technical section on the far side with no elevation - this circuit should be fast!
