The second annual Steel City Invitational presented by Andrews Sports Medicine and St. Vincent’s Health System will run Dec. 19-22, 2014. The Steel City Invitational is a three-day, four-round bracket-style high school basketball tournament with a winners and losers bracket. All teams are guaranteed to play at least one game each of the three days (Friday, Saturday and Monday). The Birmingham Tip Off Club is serving as the host for the tournament.
Participating teams and first round matchups include:
2:30 p.m. – Hoover vs. Bibb County (Seibert Hall)
3:30 p.m. – Parker vs. Cullman (Pete Hanna Center)
4:00 p.m. – Ramsay vs. Clay-Chalkville (Seibert Hall)
5:00 p.m. – Bessemer City vs. J.O. Johnson (Pete Hanna Center)
5:30 p.m. – Tuscaloosa County vs. Grissom (Seibert Hall)
6:30 p.m. – Theodore vs. Fairfield (Pete Hanna Center)
7:00 p.m. – Faith Academy vs. Wenonah (Seibert Hall)
8:00 p.m. – Mountain Brook vs. Midfield (Pete Hanna Center)
The event will run December 19, 20 and 22, 2014, at Samford University, Pete Hanna Center and Siebert Hall, 800 Lakeshore Dr., Birmingham, AL 35229

Steel City Invitational is one of the most premier high school basketball tournaments in the state of Alabama. The event, hosted by the was created to showcase the top basketball talent in the state of Alabama and bring together flagship teams from all over the state to compete in the three-day event. The field is loaded with three 2014 AHSAA State Champions and an additional three 2014 Final 48 teams. Steel City Invitational is presented by Andrews Sports Medicine and St. Vincent’s Health System and includes a slew of iconic matchups between teams and marquee players.
