The 2025 edition of the 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo sold out in 1 hour and 5 minutes on October 1, 2024, as soon as registration opened. The MTB event’s organizing team, Epic Rides, notes that this level of take-up has become fairly normal during the last decade.
Celebrating 25 years of singletrack, the TMC Health sponsored 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo will begin with a shotgun blast at high noon on February 15, 2025 at Willow Springs Ranch.
Based in the Sonoran Desert northwest of Tucson, Arizona, the 16.4-mile course flows through a desert landscape.
Following the starting gun, a rush of 2,000 mountain bikers will sprint a quarter of a mile to their bikes Le Mans style to kick-off one of the biggest 24-hour mountain bike races in the world.
Epic Rides President Todd Sadow describes the event as “the mountain biker’s (healthy) Burning Man”. The event venue sees ‘24-Hour Town’ emerging from the desert with tents, campers, and RVs, forming a temporary city of more than 4,000 spectators and participants.
The expo area will feature dozens of popular industry brands such as Orange Seal, Maxxis Tires, Primal Wear, Outbound Lighting, and more.
The NeverSecond riders staging area welcomes all participants with a place to relax and chat with new friends between laps. For those who like to get their groove on, 24 Hours of DJs provided by 91.3 KXCI Community Radio will feature local DJs spinning their favourite tunes nonstop from noon on Saturday to noon on Sunday, keeping 24-Hour Town pumped with tracks.
Epic Rides notes that… ‘Speaking of tracks, at the end of event weekend, everyone cleans up, leaving no trace beyond tyre tracks that the event ever occurred.’
Julia Strange, TMC Health Vice President of External Affairs and Brand, added “For 80 years, TMC Health has been committed to caring for our community, not only within the four walls of the hospital, but in the spaces people live and play in southern Arizona.
“24 Hours in the Old Pueblo has been an excellent partner to promote health and wellness in our region.”
