Pima County Supervisor Ray Carroll, District 4; the other members of the Board of Supervisors; and the Pima County Department of Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation invite the public to the dedication of the Southeast Clay Target Center, Southeast Archery Range, and Education and Training Range on Saturday, Oct. 5.
A ribbon cutting at 8 a.m. at the Clay Target Center, 11295 S. Harrison Road, will be followed by refreshments and shuttle service to the Archery Range and Education and Training Range.
The Clay Target Center, Archery Range, and Education and Training Range are the latest additions to the Southeast Regional Park, near the Pima County Fairgrounds, which has had a 30-position Shooting Range for handguns, rifles and other small-bore and large-bore guns since 2004.
The Shooting Range was paid for with bond money approved by voters in 1997.
A training center and the Training Range were added in 2010, paid for with bond money that voters approved in 2004. The 30-field Archery Range and Clay Target Center for trap and skeet shooting were also paid for with 2004 bond funds. The Clay Target Center has three trap fields and three combination trap/skeet fields. Construction was completed in 2012.
The handgun and rifle Shooting Range is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. The Archery Range will have the same hours. The Clay Target Center will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays and Sundays.
