Event Will Be Used to select 2014 U.S. Junior Water Ski Team

USA Water Ski and the American Water Ski Association's International Activities Committee are pleased to announce that the 2014 U.S. Junior Water Ski Team Trials will be held June 28-29 at Cedar Creek Ski Park in Elkins, Ark.

This two-round world-record capability water ski tournament will be used to select the four member U.S. Junior Water Ski Team that will be defending its title at the 15th Junior Water Ski World Championships, July 29-Aug. 3, in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine.

The Cedar Creek Water Ski Park is located in the picturesque hills of Northwestern Arkansas. It has previously hosted the South Central Regional Water Ski Championships and several other world record capability water ski tournaments.

“We are looking forward to having the top U.S. water ski athletes and nation’s best officials at our site,” said Roger Boskus, president of the Cedar Creek Skiers Water Ski Club.

As MasterCraft is the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation’s mandated boat for the Junior Worlds, all athletes will be skiing behind it in slalom and jumping at the team trials. Athletes will have their choice of towboats in tricks.

The American Water Ski Association is one of nine sport discipline organizations affiliated with USA Water Ski, which was formed in 1939 as a non-profit organization promoting water skiing in the United States. USA Water Ski is affiliated with the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (world governing body) and is recognized by the United States Olympic Committee and Pan-American Sports Organization as the national governing body of organized water skiing and wakeboarding in the United States.
