A mixed-use project planned for Santa Clara, California, would have three hotels, including one under the recently announced Equinox fitness brand, according to the site’s developer. The project is planned for the area adjacent to Levi's Stadium (home of the San Francisco 49ers).

Kenneth Himmel, CEO of Related Cos.’ Related Urban division, said the City Place project, located next to the stadium, also will have a 225-room Equinox hotel as well as a 400-room business hotel and a 150-room lifestyle hotel.
Himmel made his remarks at the NYU Hospitality Industry Investment Conference. He also noted that Related Cos. is looking to receive approvals for the site next year, though he declined to give a time frame on when the project would be built.
This spring, fitness-club operator Equinox Holdings, which Related Cos. owns, announced its plans for branded hotels, with the first slated to open as part of the Hudson Yards project on Manhattan’s west side in 2018. A second Equinox hotel is slated for downtown Los Angeles in 2019.
Himmel said there were two additional locations earmarked for Equinox hotels, though declined to say where.
