The deadline to enter the upcoming United States Tennis Association National 40 Hard Court Championships is Sunday, November 17.

The national tennis tournament, which will feature the top players in the United States in the 40 and over age division, is scheduled to be played Monday, December 2 through Sunday, December 8, 2024 at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, 2000 Spindrift Dr, La Jolla, CA 92037.

Tournament competition is slated for Men and Women in singles, doubles and mixed doubles events for players 40 and over (players must reach or exceed the age of 40 at any time this calendar year to be eligible). Participants will include former touring pros and the nation’s strongest players in this age group.

The seven-day event at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club will feature singles and doubles matches starting December 2.  Tournament matches are scheduled each day of the week, with the finals slated for the weekend of December 7-8.

Schedules and match times for individual events will be determined by the number of entries for each event. Men's first-round singles and doubles matches are expected to start on Monday, December 2.  Women’s singles and doubles matches along with matches in the mixed doubles division are expected to get underway Tuesday, December 3.

“I encourage players to submit their tournament entry as soon as possible before Sunday’s deadline,” said Bill Kellogg, Tournament Director and President of La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club. “We are expecting another strong player field for this year’s event. It’s going to be a fantastic week of championship tennis.”

Also on the agenda is the USTA National Father/Son and Grandfather/Grandson Hard Court Doubles Championships beginning Friday, December 6 and concluding Sunday, December 8.

The Father/Son Championship has been held continuously at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club since 1959 and attracts the top father and son tennis teams in the nation.  The Grandfather/Grandson Championship started at the Beach Club in 2003.

La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club welcomes tennis spectators to the tournament with free admission. Onsite parking is available for a nominal fee.

The USTA National 40 Hard Court Championships are part of the International Tennis Federation World Tennis Masters Tour. Formerly known as the ITF Seniors Tour, the recently rebranded Masters Tour includes individual and team singles, doubles and mixed doubles events across various grade levels for each five-year age increment from 30+ to 90+. Approximately 27,500 players worldwide aged 30+ to 90+ compete in Masters Tour events each year.
