Placer Has Full (and Varied) List of Sports Events on Tap for February

Mikuni Sushi Shootout Golf Tournament, Feb. 11-12: Golf Fans get ready for two-days of top-level collegiate golf when the Mikuni Sushi Shootout Women's Golf Championship arrives at the beautiful Catta Verdera Country Club in Lincoln.  This NCAA Division II event will showcase college athletes from Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, Utah and of course California. Spectators are welcome! Tee-offs are scheduled to start at 8 a.m. each day so come out and cheer on these future women PGA players!  The golf course is located at 1111 Catta Verdera in Lincoln. 

Battle of the Roses III, Feb. 16: Medieval times will be resurrected when the Battle of the Roses III returns to Roseville on Saturday, Feb. 16.  Come see real knights engaging in real fights @the Grounds for this epic Armored Combat League event!  Knighted men and women from across the country will battle it out in the ring in single duals, team melees and all versus all formats!  Plus fighters from the new History Channel television show Knight Fight will be featured!  General admission tickets are $10, children ages 5 to 11, seniors, police, fire and military are only $5 and wounded warriors are free!  The event will take place from noon to 5 p.m. so mark your calendars and come down to 800 All American City Blvd, Barn 2 @the Grounds to see this action-filled event live!  

USTA Junior Tennis Championships, Feb. 16-18: Johnson Ranch Racquet Club in Roseville is teaming up with Placer Valley Tourism to host the USTA Johnson Ranch Junior Singles Championships over President Day Weekend, Feb. 16-18. More than 250 youth tennis players ages 12 through 18 will be participating at this National Level 4 ranking tournament. Top girls and boys singles players from throughout Northern Nevada and California will be competing.  Admission is free! Food and beverages will be available on-site for purchase. Johnson Ranch Racquet Club is located at 2501 Eureka Rd. in Roseville. We hope to see you there.
