EVP Tour Announces Stockton as 2014 Host Sponsor

The EVP Tour, an industry leader in creating “fan friendly”  beach volleyball events has signed an agreement with Stockton Convention & Visitors Bureau to host the 2014 & 2015 EVP ProSeries World Finals of Beach Volleyball on the gorgeous campus of University of the Pacific. The EVP Tour is the largest beach volleyball tour in the United States with over 15 events and 5,000 athletes competing each summer.

“We are really excited to bring professional beach volleyball to Stockton, California.  We have athletes from 30 states that will travel to this event and several teams from our ProSeries in Italy,” said EVP Tour Commissioner, Ross Balling. “This is the first EVP ProSeries event in the state of California to be hosted by a visitors bureau. It makes sense to drive the sports traveler to California.”

The EVP ProSeries World Finals of Beach Volleyball event will be the first professional event to be held at Pacific’s new beach volleyball facility, which opened earlier this year.  “We really strive to continue to bring new and unique sporting events to Stockton,” noted Wes Rhea, CEO of the Stockton Convention & Visitors Bureau.  “This EVP event will not only expose Stockton to this growing sport, but also showcase a new quality facility at our university.”

“Pacific is proud to host this world class beach volleyball event and we’re looking forward to seeing some of the best beach volleyball players in the world come to Stockton,” said Pacific Associate Director of Athletics, Dan Chapman.  “Our new beach volleyball facility will be the perfect venue for this event that is sure to attract large crowds from throughout our region.”

The dates for the 2014 Stockton event will be September 26-27.
