For the fourth consecutive year Woodcreek High School and Placer Valley Tourism are teaming up to bring the Northern California Swimming Championships to the prestigious Roseville Aquatics Complex. This Trial/Finals meet taking place on April 8-9 promotes excellent competition among the top high school swimmers in Northern California.
There is expected to be 18 to 20 teams participating from throughout Northern California with some teams coming from as far away as Benicia and Merced. Woodcreek Aquatics President, TJ Kay, expects around 500 swimmers to compete this year and explained that all swimmers had to qualify based off of times they recorded earlier in the swim season.
On Friday, April 8 the trials portion of the meet will take place with the first event starting at noon. The top 24 individuals and the top 16 relays per event will be invited to compete on Saturday in the finals which is slated to begin at 10 a.m. Admission is $3 per day and there will be refreshments available to purchase at the concession stand.
These championships will give the swimmers a great opportunity to experience swimming in a Trials/Finals swim meet at the high school level and serve as an excellent preparation for the Sierra Foothills League Championships which will take place on April 29-30 also at the Roseville Aquatics Complex.
