The Twilight Trail Adventure 5K & 10K Run is coming to Auburn, CA for its seventh year to empower and educate runners on the safety of trail running in the dark. The race slated for Saturday, August 3, provides an exciting experience for runners of all levels to practice smart trail running at night. Runners will start their 5K and 10K trail journeys at 9 p.m.

“The goal of this race is to provide runners with a fun experience while educating them on the safety precautions of running at night,” said Race Director Julie Fingar. “Running at night can be full of adventure, and we want runners everywhere to be safe, smart and take precaution when running in the dark.”
The 5K and 10K courses start and finish at the picturesque Auburn Dam Overlook. Athletes will run down the American River Canyon following the iconic American River 50 Mile Endurance Run course to the base of the canyon, then on to the historical and steep Cardiac Hill. Once runners hit the top of the climb, they’ll reach the home stretch of the course and proceed along the canal back to the Overlook and make their way to the finish line while being greeted by music, neon lights and cheerful family, friends and spectators.
Finishers will be treated to a post-race feast with Baja fresh burritos, salsa and chips, ice cream and thirst-quenching beer.
