Tournament officials for the 2023 Cymbiotika San Diego Open Presented by ResMed have extended singles main draw wild cards to American Sloane Stephens and Canada's Leylah Fernandez.The WTA 500 women’s professional tournament is scheduled for Saturday, September 9 through Saturday, September 16 at Barnes Tennis Center, 4490 W Point Loma Blvd, San Diego, CA 92107.The 30-year-old Stephens, a native of Plantation, Fla., won the biggest title of her career in 2017 when she captured the US Open singles championship. In 2018, she achieved a career-high No. 3 in the WTA singles rankings and reached the singles final at Roland Garros.Stephens, currently ranked No. 38 in the WTA singles rankings, has won seven career WTA singles titles. She also represented the United States in Fed Cup team competition from 2012-2014 and was a member of the U.S. Olympic team in 2016.
