Boulderthon claims largest 5K prize purse in USA

Boulderthon, billed as ‘the fastest-growing race series in Colorado’, has announced its 5K prize purse for this year’s event on September 29, 2024.
 

In the BCH Heart to Heart 5K, the event organizing team notes that $40,000 will be up for grabs between the top three male and female finishers, which is claimed to be the largest 5K prize purse in the USA.
 

First-place finishers will be rewarded $5,000, followed by $3,000 for second-place, and $2,000 to third-place.
 

First-place finishers of the 5K will have the opportunity to win an additional $10,000 each. Boulderthon has announced it will reward a further US$10,000 to the female, and male first-place finishers of the 5K if their time beats the current Colorado 5K records.
 

The current records stand at 13:31.27 for males, and 15:44.20 for females.
