Members of the USA Triathlon National Office will host children ages 7-15 this Saturday, Aug. 22, at the 2015 USA Triathlon Youth Splash & Dash in Colorado Springs.

Part of the nationwide 45-race USA Triathlon Youth Splash & Dash Aquathlon Series, the event will begin at 9 a.m. at the Memorial Park Recreation Center, located at 280 South Union Boulevard in Colorado Springs. Participants ages 7-10 will cover a 100-meter swim and a 1-kilometer run, while athletes ages 11-15 will complete a 200m swim and a 2k run. Visit usatriathlon.org for complete event information.
The cost to participate is $5 for USA Triathlon members, $20 for non-members wishing to purchase an annual USA Triathlon membership, and $15 for non-members who wish to race without purchasing a membership. Online registration ends on Friday, Aug. 21 at noon MT, and on-site registrations (cash or check only) will be accepted on race morning between 7:30-8:45 a.m.
All participants will receive a medal upon crossing the finish line and an official USA Triathlon Youth Splash & Dash Aquathlon Series T-shirt. Series partners include the USA Swimming Foundation, the Boy Scouts of America and the USA Triathlon Foundation. Additionally, local partners for the Colorado Springs event include Mile High Youth Corps, Road ID, Kids on Bikes and the YMCA of Pikes Peak Region.
Educating youth athletes between the ages 7-15 about the multisport lifestyle is one of the primary objectives of the USA Triathlon Youth Splash & Dash Aquathlon Series, which is focused on participation and having fun, rather than competition.
