After a record-setting year at the Colorado Springs Airport in 2017 Revvolution.com, Shift-S3ctor and the Colorado Springs Sports Corp are excited to announce the 2018 Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack is returning for its fifth year.

Mark your calendars for June 16-17 and don't miss the half-mile side-by-side trap speed competition that features the fastest stock and modified street cars in the world.

After building on the success of the new layout in 2017, considerable improvements have been made for both participants and spectators. Organizers listened to the valuable feedback, and the VIP experience has been significantly improved by doubling the size as well as improving available amenities.

The event will also host a one-of-a-kindstatic aviation display featuring fully restored and functional vintage aircraft. New participant pricing has also been implemented to attract more record-setting monsters and those fresh-off-the-showroom-floor works of art. Spectators can expect 25 percent more Pro and Pro Am cars to compete.
"The Colorado Springs Airport is thrilled to serve as the venue for the 5th annual Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack," said Greg Phillips, Director of Aviation for the Colorado Springs Airport. "We look forward to this event, and invite the Colorado Springs Community to come out to the airport to enjoy this unique experience and witness history being made."

In 2017, more than 7,000 spectators, 50 media outlets and 60 sponsors gathered at the Colorado Springs Airport. Catching the event remotely, 1.5 million viewers tuned into the live broadcast as 260 die-hard competitors left it all on the tarmac, making Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack the largest event of its kind in the world. Who will claim the title of King of Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack with a new half-mile world record?

As we've learned in previous years, records will continue to be broken, engines blown and egos tarnished over the two-day half-mile side-by-side trap speed competition. At 6,500 ft above sea level, a car's efficiency to make power diminishes, but this didn't stop cars from establishing new world records in excess of 255 mph.

In conjunction with notable Colorado Springs Airport tenants and users, a static aviation display has been added to the event featuring fully restored and functional vintage aircraft - more details soon!

The Airstrip Attack team is also hosting a Friday Night Celebration at The Antlers Hotel in downtown Colorado Springs. There will be a live DJ and the event is free and open to the public. Enjoy a preview of some of the unique cars that will compete on Saturday and Sunday and, while you're at it, be sure to check out the Antlers' new lounge and their plethora of beer-60 taps, ready to pour!

The Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack team is excited to announce The Antlers as the official host hotel. The iconic hotel offers spectacular views of Pikes Peak and the Rocky Mountains. This year, the event is bringing everyone into a central location where they can be part of a true Airstrip Attack experience. Located in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs, you're minutes away from bars and restaurants along Tejon St.

The team is expecting 2018 to be even bigger. Last year, Jeffrey J. Hart directed the Revvolution.com production that broadcasted the entire event live on Facebook to our partners 1320Video, Street FX Motorsports & Graphics, Revvolution and Shift-S3ctor's pages, and reached over 1.5 million live viewers and over 10 million reached!
