2017 Delaware Running Festival Announces Changes to Line-Up

The Discover Bank Delaware Running Festival is scheduled for May 13-14, 2017, and registration is already open.

Corrigan Sports is excited to be the new management team and look forward to growing an already fabulous event!  Exciting additions have been made to the event in order to add to the race weekend excitement.

There is special early bird pricing this year so sign up early.  Register prior to January 1, 2017 and save as much as $60 from what you will pay at the expo. As added incentive to join us for the 14th running of the Delaware Running Festival to be held on the 14th of May, for the next 72 hours we are offering an additional $14 OFF* any race you register for.  Simply use the code GOLD when registering online and save even more. (And if you did not figure it out already "Gold" is the traditional gift for your 14th Anniversary.)

In 2017, the event will add two race distances to the festivities.  In addition to the full marathon, half-marathon and team relay on Sunday, the lineup will now officially include a twilight 5K and a kids fun run, both held in the evening of Saturday, May 13.  The addition of these two distances into the Running Festival lineup will ensure that there is a race distance for participants of every ability!  And while we are not ready to officially announce it, you can prepare yourself for some kind of "challenge" for completing both the 5k on Saturday and full or half marathon on Sunday.

With the addition of the 5k distance, we will no longer be hosting the 8-person relay.  Those wishing to run a team relay race will still have the option of selecting the 4-person relay on Sunday.  And those looking for the shorter race distance can compete alongside of their friends and family in Saturday night's 5K.

Also this year, every finisher will receive a medal!  Regardless of the race distance you complete, we will be awarding you with some bling when you cross the finish line. Finish the full or half?  BLING!  Finish the relay or 5K?  BLING!  Finish the kids fun run?  BLING!  Needless to say, you should plan to bring your sunglasses on race day this year!
