Organizers of the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run announced that "The Runner's Rite of Spring®" will return for its 47th running on April 7, 2019.
Credit Union Miracle Day Inc. has renewed its title sponsorship of the event for two more years - 2020 and 2021 - extending a relationship that began in 2002. Credit Union Miracle Day Inc. is a consortium of credit unions and credit union suppliers, with CUNA Mutual Group and PSCU serving as the lead financial partners of the collaboration.
In making the joint announcement, Race Director Phil Stewart said: "I am pleased to continue our nearly two-decade relationship with Credit Union Miracle Day and all of the supporting credit unions. This longtime sponsorship of the Washington Metropolitan Area's most popular spring running event truly shows how credit unions serve their communities."
Theresa Mann, Chair of Credit Union Miracle Day, added her thoughts: "We're thrilled to continue as the title sponsors of the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run through 2021. Credit Unions make a difference in their communities every day by providing affordable financial services to consumers. Our ongoing sponsorship of this event is further proof of this as we bring consumers together to raise more than $8.5 million for CMN Hospitals."
One common thread of the ongoing relationship between the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run and 5K Run-Walk and Credit Union Miracle Day, Inc. involves the very robust fundraising effort for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals by race participants. In particular, charity race entrants commit to raising at least $500 for the cause. Details about the 2019 charity race entry procedure will be announced in November shortly before the opening of the entry lottery on Saturday, December 1, 2018.
Since 2002, the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run and 5K Run-Walk have raised over $8.5 million for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, with $380,000 of that total being raised this past year. The 2018 event marked the 17th year of title sponsorship by Credit Union Miracle Day.
Other sponsors of the 2019 Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run and 5K Run-Walk include Garmin, the presenting technology sponsor, and supporting sponsors E-Trade, Gatorade, Gold's Gym, MedStar Sports Medicine, Navy Federal Credit Union, Potomac River Running, and Under Armour.

About Credit Union Miracle Day: Credit Union Miracle Day is a partnership of over 100 credit unions, CUSOs and partner organizations united to sponsor the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run promoting awareness of the credit union difference and benefitting Children's Miracle Network Hospitals nationwide.
About America's Credit Unions: Credit unions provide consumers choices for financial services such as checking accounts, investments and loans of all kinds including mortgages. Funds are federally insured, but unlike banks, there are no stockholders at credit unions. Earnings are returned to member-owners in the form of lower loan rates, higher savings rates, low or no-fee products and services. The credit union philosophy of placing members' needs first is why more than 115 million Americans do their banking at one of America's 5,700 credit unions. Credit unions are for everyone - no matter where you live, there is a credit union to meet your needs.
