Congressional Football Game to be Held in Washington, DC

The Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA) will once again sponsor the Congressional Football Game on October 28, 2015 at Watkins Recreation Field in Washington, DC. The bi-annual flag football game pins members of Congress and former NFL players against the U.S. Capitol Police with all proceeds from the event benefitting local charities, including the Capitol Police Memorial Fund and Our Military Kids.

SFIA’s sponsorship of the game includes apparel, equipment and footwear generously provided by SFIA’s member companies. SFIA members supporting the game include: adidas, Battle Sports Science, Franklin Sports, Nike, Russell Athletic, and UnderArmour. After the completion of the game, the apparel, equipment, and footwear will be donated to underserved communities.

Former NFL players serving as coaches and players include Ken Harvey, John Booty, Gary Clark, Shawn Springs, and Franklin Sports’ Herschel Walker. Twenty-three current members of Congress are expected to play in the game. In the eighth year of the Congressional Football Game, the Capitol Police hold a 5-1-1 lead in the series.
