This year’s 47th AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships will see some modifications to the format and length of event dates from twelve (12) to eight (8) days from July 14 - 22, 2020.
Due to the unprecedented nature of the impact of the COVID-10 (“Coronavirus”), this year’s 47th AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships will see some modifications to the format and length of event dates along with the implementation of comprehensive containment mitigation measures with Orange County Convention Center and our partners at Orlando Health. We are adhering to CDC guidelines as well as state, county, and local authority mandates as well as putting in place additional safety precautions.
This has been done in an effort to provide the very best event experience for competing teams, players, coaches and chaperones in a safe and secure environment.
The event will take place in approximately 1 million square feet of space at the OCCC’s North-South Building over an 8-day timeframe. There are large areas of distance between courts to allow for larger and wider aisles. There will be dedicated entrances and exits throughout the building to include a designated check-in location and limited hall access. Pre-screenings and temperature checks will be taken by health professionals daily at a dedicated location for all attendees and officials.
A maximum of ten (10) chaperones per team will be allowed entrance and no other team spectators will be permitted. Additionally, we are working with medical experts on specific protocols and additional mitigation measures at the venue.
