Clay County Festival, Part of the Sunshine State Games, Continues This Weekend

The 42^nd Annual Sunshine State Games features three multi-sport Festivals. The Clay County Festival presents four sports the weekend of Friday, June 11 through Sunday, June 13.
The 2021 Sunshine State Games is the first visit to Clay County in the history of the Games, dating back to 1980. The 2021 Clay County Festival hosts Canoe/Kayak Marathon, Disc Golf, Pickleball and Ultimate at three locations
Pickleball will be making its Sunshine State Games debut at the Clay County Festival, over three days at Ronnie Van Zant Park in Green Cove Springs.  Pickleball has been played in the Florida Senior Games since 2003 and this event will serve as a qualifier for the 2021 Florida Senior Games.
Disc Golf makes a return to the Games, June 11-13, also at Ronnie Van Zant Park, for a three-round tournament. The last time Disc Golf was contested in the Sunshine State Games was in 2016 at the Sarasota County Festival.
Ultimate will be held on Saturday, June 12 and Sunday, June 13 at the Plantation Sports Complex in Fleming Island. Canoe Kayak Marathon Races, 6 and 12 miles, will be held at the Middleburg Boat Ramp.

The Sunshine State Games, Florida’s only Olympic-style Sports Festival, is presented annually by the Florida Sports Foundation, the official sports promotion and development organization of the State of Florida. Dating back to 1980, the Sunshine State Games is the longest continually-running State Games program in the U.S.  The 2021 Games are presented in conjunction with Clay County Tourism and Airstream Ventures, the Gainesville Sports Commission, Florida’s Sports Coast and Polk County Sports Marketing.
