The Circuit Racing International Tour (CRIT) has announced team rosters and the prize purse for the inaugural one-day CRIT Championship.
The CRIT Championship has been organised by professional cyclist and founder of Williams Racing Development, Justin Williams, in partnership with Wasserman Ventures. Focused on top tier criterium racing, the invite-only pro peloton will showcase a number of elite-level cyclists in the USA.
Scheduled for October 21, 2023, the CRIT Championship is a non-USA Cycling sanctioned event. Both men’s and women’s events will race 70 minutes around a 0.66 mile course through the EDGE District of St Petersburg, FL.
Races will feature equal payouts across men’s and women’s races. The pro prize purse stands at US$7,500 for each race, and Open Cat 2/3/4 riders will race for prize purses of US$1,000.
The invite-only pro peloton will feature the following teams roster:
- Atlanta Flyers
- Austin Aviators
- Chicago Rivals
- 5280 Denver Colorado
- L39iON of Los Angeles
- London Tekkerz
- Miami Blazers
- Milwaukee Swarm
- Nashville Reign
- New York City Dream
Originally unveiled in April 2023, the new CRIT Championship Tour is a separate initiative from other criterium racing series in the US, such as the National Cycling League and the American Criterium Cup.
CRIT sponsors include: Red Bull, SRAM, Specialized, Competitive Cyclist, Pedal Mafia, Vuori, Dex Imaging, ValPak, Porsche of Clearwater, HVMN Keton IQ, and GoMarco.
