To Celebrate the 2023 National Women in Sports Day, the Florida Sports Foundation, the official sports promotion and development organization of the State of Florida, wraps up the 50th Anniversary of the Title IX legislation empowering women’s advancement in sports.
The State of Florida, with its vast opportunities in sports, has provided women over the last 50 years to establish themselves as athletes, coaches and administrators on and off the field of play.
Beginning with the 2023 celebration of National Women in Sports Day, the Florida Sports Foundation kicks off its 50 Champions for 50 Years in Sports Salute that will culminate at the 2023 Florida Sports Summit, to be held in Palm Beach County, May 22-24. At this Summit gathering, Florida Sports Industry professionals, representing local sports commissions statewide, will be able to join in the Celebration of the honorees from their areas.
During February and March, the Foundation will recognize 50 Champions from the State of Florida who have served as pioneers in the Sports Industry. Pictured is the 2021 Florida Senior Games Athlete of the Year, Andrea Collier, of Orlando.
