Visit Panama City Beach will host the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Beach Volleyball National Invitational, taking place on April 21-23 at Russell-Fields City Pier courts. The three-day event will feature 30 teams from 6 NAIA programs competing for the championship title.
“Visit Panama City Beach is thrilled to welcome top collegiate athletes to our destination for the inaugural NAIA Women’s Beach Volleyball Invitational,” said Dan Rowe, Visit Panama City Beach President and CEO. “After hosting the first AVP Pro Next event of 2022 just earlier this month, we are grateful for the opportunity to host another exciting volleyball competition and showcase Panama City Beach to players and fans from across the country.”
The teams competing in the invitational will travel to Panama City Beach from Oregon, Arizona, Missouri, California, and Florida. Participating schools include Vanguard University, Corban University, Park University, Ottawa University, Webber International University, and Westcliff University. The teams will begin the three-day competition with pool play and each will advance to a single elimination bracket.
“We are excited to welcome Visit Panama City Beach to our family of NAIA hosts,” said NAIA President and CEO Jim Carr. “Panama City Beach will provide an exceptional location for our student athletes during our inaugural NAIA Beach Volleyball Invitational.”
The invitational kicks off on April 21 at Russell-Fields City Pier courts, with games taking place across 10 courts at 10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. On April 22, games will be held across 5 courts at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., and the semifinals will be at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. The final championship game is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on April 23. Admission is free.
