The Parachute Industry Association has chosen the Ocean Center convention center again for its annual convention in 2015. This will be the association’s second convention at the county-run facility following its convention in March of this year.
“We chose the Ocean Center and Daytona Beach again because the Ocean Center and the Daytona Beach Hilton worked very well for our needs,” said Pat Thomas, chair of the 2013 Parachute Industry Association Convention. “All of the staff were very friendly and really easy to get along with all of our needs were met and I was impressed by that especially knowing that we had attendees from 42 different countries.”
Approximately 1,200 attendees are expected to attend the convention March 30 - April 4, 2015 and will stay in the Daytona Beach area. Convention highlights include education for those in the industry and sales of parachuting and skydiving equipment. The event will be open to the public.
Skydiving is big business in Volusia County – a $70 million a year industry — particularly in DeLand where a number of industries are based including Performance Design, The Drop Zone, United Parachute Technologies, Merlin Suits, Sky Systems, Alti-2 and many more.
