Get ready for the inaugural Racquet & Paddle Sports Conference, to be held Jan. 23-25 in Orlando, Fla., incorporating an expanded Tennis Owners & Managers Conference. The new racquet sports event will be co-located with the PGA Merchandise Show at the Orange County Convention Center and will include an Innovation & Tech Demo Event at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona.
The Racquet & Paddle Sports Conference will be presented by the Tennis Industry Association and REED Exhibitions, which also produces the PGA Merchandise Show. The conference will expand upon the TIA’s Tennis Owners & Managers (TOM) Conference, focusing on facilities, innovation and technology, and will also will include a hands-on demo event and welcome party at the state-of-the-art USTA National Campus at Lake Nona in Orlando, where manufacturers and innovators will display new product for attendees to playtest.
The Racquet & Paddle Sports Conference is targeted to all facets of tennis, racquet and paddle sports businesses. The conference format will include five educational tracks: Innovation & Technology; Facility Operations (including design, planning, lighting, etc.); Human & Professional Services (such as hiring and staffing); Event Management & Hospitality; and Membership, Marketing & Promotions (including digital marketing and social media). Continuing education credits are available.
“A lot of natural synergies exist between the golf and tennis industries,” notes TIA Executive Director Jolyn de Boer. “Having a major Racquet & Paddle Sports Conference co-located with the PGA Merchandise Show will capture these synergies, help us address common challenges, share ideas and best practices and help to drive business forward.”
REED Exhibitions, the world’s leading events business, enhances the power of face-to-face through data and digital tools at over 500 events in 30 countries that annually attract more than 7 million attendees. Reed helped grow the PGA Show into the ultimate resource for the golf industry with more than 40,000 influencers and top decision makers attending the annual three-day event in January.
In addition to the welcome party and demo event at the USTA National Campus, the 2019 Racquet & Paddle Sports Conference is expected to include “one-to-one” meetings that match buyers with vendors. The Conference also will include the fourth edition of the TIA’s Tennis Industry Innovation Challenge, a “Shark Tank”-like competition to find the most innovative tennis products and services.
