USRowing Youth Nationals Start Today

USRowing and Benderson Park Conservancy will host the 27th USRowing Youth National Championships June 9-12 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla.
 
Presented by Broadridge Financial Solutions Inc., this year's event is the largest ever, featuring nearly 3,500 high school and junior athletes from 210 programs competing for national titles in 33 boat classes. In total, 777 boats are scheduled to race.
 
Located in Sarasota, Fla., Nathan Benderson Park is a unique 600-acre community park that includes North America's premier 2,000-meter sprint rowing course and a regatta center. It previously hosted youth nationals in 2019 and 2021. 
 
Maritime Rowing Club has the most entries this week with 19 boats scheduled to compete. Sarasota Crew has 17 boats entered, with Los Gatos Rowing Club and RowAmerica Rye each bringing 15 boats. The men's youth eight has the most entries with 35 crews scheduled to compete.
 
Racing begins on Thursday with time trials in all boat classes. Friday's racing will feature semifinals in all boat classes and the D finals in the U17, U16, and U15 categories. Saturday will feature the C and D finals in the youth boat classes, as well as the B and C finals in the U17, U16, and U15 boat classes. Sunday's racing will feature the A finals (medal races) for all boat classes and the B finals for the youth boat classes. Click here for a complete schedule and here for the heat sheet.
 
Starting on Friday, semifinals and finals will be streamed live on USRowing's YouTube Channel at www.youtube.com/usrowingorg. In addition, USRowing has partnered with Rowers Choice to provide a daily preview and recap show, USRowing Race Day Coverage powered by Rowers Choice, beginning on Thursday.
