World Wake Association Selects The Palm Beaches to Host Wake Park National Championships

The Palm Beach County Sports Commission, in partnership with World Wake Productions, is excited to host the 2024 WWA Wake Park National Championships which will take place from August 8-11, 2024, at the renowned Shark Wake Park inside Okeeheelee Park. This marks the first time the event will be hosted in The Palm Beaches.
 

The 2024 WWA Wake Park National Championships will feature both professional and amateur competitors from across the nation, competing in three disciplines: Wake Park Traditional, Wake Park Urban, and Wakeskating. The event is expected to draw over 1,000 traveling attendees, including 300 participants and 750 spectators, support staff, officials, and sponsors. With an estimated economic impact of over $1.3 million and the generation of over 2,200 lodging room nights, this event promises to significantly benefit the local economy.
 

The World Wake Association is the premier organization for promoting and growing competitive wake sports globally. Founded in 1989, the WWA is a rider-formed organization that has set the standard for competitive wakeboarding, wakesurfing, and wakeskating. It continues to support the sport’s progression by providing high-quality events and competitive standards for riders of all levels. The WWA’s dedication to the sport has made it the leading source for riders, event organizers, and competitive standards.
 

The host site for this championship event, Shark Wake Park, is conveniently located inside Okeeheelee Park. Spanning 1,700 acres, Okeeheelee Park is a West Palm Beach landmark and a versatile venue for a wide range of sports. It features six lighted tennis courts, six pickleball courts, and a grass volleyball court. The park also includes five lighted baseball fields—three measuring 198 feet in all directions and the fourth measuring 273 feet—and four lighted softball fields, each measuring 300 feet. Additionally, Okeeheelee Park offers four lighted multipurpose fields that are perfect for soccer, rugby, lacrosse, football, and more.
