The United States Professional Tennis Association announced that it will transition its worldwide headquarters to Lake Nona, Florida.
After 25 years of residing in Houston, the current headquarters location will close its doors on Tuesday, May 30. Although the new building remains under construction, the USPTA national staff will be operational in a temporary office space until its completion.
The single-story, 10,000-square-foot building, which will be home to approximately 20 members of the USPTA staff, will house a technologically driven office space and an eco-friendly environment acting like a lab for learning and training. In addition, the space features an in-house multimedia studio that allows for TV production. The facility has been designed with the inspiration of LEED quality standards and is projected to be completed by the end of June.
“The relocation to Lake Nona is game changing for our association. The decision to move from Florida to Houston more than 25 years ago proved to be a financially prudent decision, during which time we saw a period of unparalleled growth in stature in the industry for the USPTA,” said USPTA CEO John Embree. “Today, we begin a brand new and incredibly exciting chapter in our rich 90-year history with the transition to our new home across the street from the home of American tennis.”
