Cobb Sports Alliance has completed the Compete Sports Diversity Leader Designation Track to become a certified leader in sports diversity and embrace inclusion within the sports community in Cobb County.
The Sports Diversity Leader (SDL) certification is specifically designed for professional development in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives for leaders in the sports industry. By completing the certification, Cobb Sports Alliance team members made a commitment to embrace the principles of inclusion, diversity, equity, acceptance, and leadership throughout their professional and personal lives.
“Compete is thrilled that Cobb Sports Alliance has joined us as a Certified SDLT organization,” said Compete Sports Diversity CEO, Eric Carlyle. “Their dedication to diversity, equity and inclusion demonstrates their true commitment to attracting a broad spectrum of events to Cobb County.”
Compete Sports Diversity works to “Unite the World Through Sports” by connecting, educating, empowering, and inspiring mission-driven LGBTQ+ and allied sports and community leaders, sports organizations, non-profit groups, tourism partners, corporate partners, and athletes to further sports diversity together through membership, media, and event platforms.
This organization provides an open dialogue with the LGBTQ+ sports community by hosting summits throughout the year. It also provides sports specific DEI training and education through its Sports Diversity Leader Training and Certification Program, and connects sports organizations to partners and convention and visitors’ bureaus (CVBs) through the Compete membership council.
Founded in 2006, Compete Sports Diversity is the only LGBTQ+ owned and NGLCC certified business in its industry. This organization exemplifies passion for sports combined with passion for diversity coming together to promote and push for inclusion and representation in sports.
