Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) announced that Dr. Mark Kovacs will conduct ‘Physical Training for the Doubles Athlete’ on Monday, August 1, from 9:30am-12:30pm at the Atlantic Station at BB&T Atlanta Open.
The information covered will highlight the typical movement patterns used during doubles play and the different ways the body should be trained to compete as a doubles player. Dr. Kovacs, who was an All-American and NCAA Doubles Champion, will talk about many different aspects of doubles training and how to help players train smarter to be better doubles athletes. Participants will learn where most of the injuries occur in doubles athletes, and how to best prevent them, as well as which physical aspects of training should be prioritized for doubles players compared to singles players.
