Lakepoint Sporting Community Announces Opening of Perfect Game

LakePoint Sporting Community opens its elite baseball facility for tenant Perfect Game to host its annual 16U, 17U and 18U Perfect Game – East Cobb Invitational tomorrow. Four of the 16 Major League-size fields will have some of the top players in the country competing for the championship. First pitch is at 8 a.m.

Perfect Game USA is the “gold standard” resource for baseball recruiting for collegiate, minor and major league scouts. They have an unparalleled approach of bringing together the best amateur baseball players with college and professional scouts.

LakePoint’s elite baseball facilities include 16 Major League-size fields, which—with the exception of traditional dirt pitching mounds—will be surfaced entirely with synthetic turf provided by Shaw Sports Turf. This high-tech playing surface has been designed to accurately mimic the bounce of the ball off of real dirt and grass, and will allow fields to be playable immediately after rain. Each field will be equipped with chairback seats, batting cages and bullpens. Other state-of-the-art features include fully digital scoreboards and LED field lighting by sports lighting industry leader Musco.

Scouts and recruiters will be able to view each field from one of our state-of-the-art scouting towers, located at the center of each quad. The scouting towers feature live video feeds from every baseball field at LakePoint so pro and college scouts will not miss a single pitch.

All events run Thursday, June 5 through Monday, June 9. The first game starts at 8 a.m. on Thursday, June 5. The facility is located at 130 Old Allatoona Rd SE Cartersville, GA 30121
