About Marketing College®
Since its inception in 1992, STS Marketing College has hosted tourism professionals for one week, each year, on a three-year path to earning their Travel Marketing Professional (TMP) certification. What began as the vision of the late Dorothy Hardman has now graduated over 1,400 TMPs across the association’s 14-state region. Marketing College remains a fundamental travel and tourism professional development staple in the southeast.
Thirty years and counting, STS Marketing College® has successfully completed its second year on the campus of Mercer University in Macon, GA. During the week of June 4, 323 tourism professionals learned from 27 industry leaders about topics such as Destination Brand Stewardship, DEI & Community Engagement; DMO Sales & Marketing; Google Analytics 4 Basics; Research Explained; and Group Travel Dos and Don’ts.
“The longevity of this program, and the 1400+ TMPs to date, are a testament to the quality of education, leadership development, and networking that are the cornerstones of Marketing College,” says Monica Smith, President & CEO of Southeast Tourism Society. “We are so grateful to Miles Partnership for their countless years of support of Marketing College and to the Marketing College professors that have contributed to the program over the past 31 years.”
Berkeley Young, Marketing College Provost says “Marketing College is unmatched in the quality of education and instruction that it offers in a fun learning environment. There is no better opportunity to expand your knowledge and network in the Southeast. It sells out every year because it gets better every year.”
Marketing College is an excellent program for tourism professionals that are either new to the industry or tourism experts that need refreshers about the ever-changing trends and technology.
