Xplorer Fitness Challenge has launched a compelling way to experience the island of O‘ahu.
Guests in a small group setting are given the opportunity to explore some of the most rugged and scenic parts of the island, participating in activities that are off the typical tourist map. These excursions are fully supported by staff and guides.
At the end of each challenging day, guests are rewarded with luxury amenities at one of the island’s top 5-star hotels, where they can enjoy their surroundings and recover with meals that are locally sourced and prepared by Hawai‘i’s top gourmet chefs.
This is a unique series of unforgettable challenges overland and sea packaged into an exclusive multisport experience that cannot be replicated anywhere else.
The blend of adventure, outdoor lifestyle travel combined with high-end amenities is part of a growing trend in travel, and offers a certain level of risk paired with an alluring high level of reward.
Jim Clash is a Forbes contributing editor and author of Forbes to the Limits: Pushing Yourself to the Edge in Adventure and in Business (John Wiley & Sons, 2003). He notes, “you can’t eliminate risk entirely from adventure, nor would you want to… Risk is a big part of the challenge but you can be smart about it.”
In his article about wild surroundings and luxurious treatment, Jim states, “On the milder side for the less adrenaline-driven, there are luxury treks in South Africa (Singita Game Drive) and western Canada (Nimmo Bay), where adventures such as helicopter touring, hiking, fishing and swimming reign during the day, but the evenings give way to pampered camps replete with gourmet meals. Depending on the program, prices range from a few thousand to several thousand dollars.
Sure, there’s always an adventure that’s more dangerous or more expensive, such as a $30 million ride to the International Space Station aboard a Soyuz rocket, or a $70,000 guided climb of the world’s highest peak, Mt. Everest. But adrenaline junkies without hedge funds or high-tech companies to their names still have plenty to choose from.
And just like a trip to earth’s highest peak or around its orbit, all of these trips require time, money, training–and some cajones. Try any of them, and Hemingway would be proud.”
Xplorer Fitness Challenge offers rigorous and unique adventure challenges, taking advantage of all the rugged terrain and beauty found on O‘ahu. From mountain trekking on jagged trails to wild outrigger canoeing on an OC1, participants will be put to the test as they complete one challenge in order to move onto the next one.
As well as providing fully supported day trips and multi-day trips allowing participants to experience the island in a completely unique and unprecedented way, Xplorer Fitness Challenge has launched a singularly demanding experience, the 1-Day Epic Adventure Challenge.
Participants in this particular challenge can expect a challenging course and plenty of transitions on a route that will include 4000ft of elevation change and cover 17+ miles of overland and nautical distance with the tropical sun most likely a constant companion.
The 1-Day Epic Adventure Challenge is not an obstacle race nor a triathlon. It is a paddle, run, ride, swim, survive, and thrive event.
Other experiences offered by Xplorer Fitness Challenge are the all-inclusive 3-Day, 4-Day, and 7-Day Adventure Challenges. The 1-Day Epic Adventure Challenge is incorporated in these adventure challenges. At the end of each adventure challenge day, participants will be rewarded with luxurious accommodations where they will rest their heads on lush pillows, massages to treat their weary bodies, and thoughtfully crafted meals to replenish lost calories from racing under the hot sun.
The 3-Day Adventure Challenge is an all-inclusive 3-day/2-night trip with a grueling 2 days of adventure challenges that will sweep you from the infamous steep trail ascent of Pu‘u Manamana to the highly acclaimed shoreline of Kailua. Participants can expect a challenging course and plenty of transitions on a route that will include approximately 6000ft of elevation change and cover 47+ miles of overland and nautical distance.
The 4-Day Adventure Challenge is an all-inclusive 4-day/3-night trip with a grueling 3 days of adventure challenges that will sweep you from the infamous steep ascent of Pu‘u Manamana, famous wild waters of the North Shore, and conclude with the highly acclaimed shoreline of Kailua. The 7-Day Adventure Challenge is an all-inclusive 7-day/6-night trip with a grueling 5 days of adventure challenges that will sweep you from the lava rocks of the easternmost point of Oah‘u, famous wild waters of the North Shore, highly acclaimed shoreline of Kailua, infamous steep trail ascent of Pu‘u Manamana, and conclude with the secluded Kawela Bay. Participants can expect an extremely challenging course and plenty of transitions on a route that will include approximately 11,000ft of elevation change and cover 65+ miles of overland and nautical distance.
The adventure challenges have been described as a “personal odyssey” and multisport adventure challenge that will redefine endurance sports on Hawaii.
