The U.S. Fencing Association is pleased to invite all those interested to the 2013 Chicago World Cup for men’s and women’s individual and team events from May 3-5. The Chicago Saber World Cup is open to all athletes possessing a current FIE License, who are selected by their National Federation in accordance with the FIE rules for entries to A-grade events.

The venue will be the  University of Illinois at Chicago‘s Flames Athletic Center/Physical Education Building, located at 839 W. Roosevelt Road in Chicago, IL.

Thursday, 2 May 2013
Noon-2 p.m. – Registration at Crowne Plaza Chicago Metro Downtown
3 p.m.0 – Publication of pool sin the University of Illinois at Chicago, Flames Athletic Center/Physical Education Building, Crowne Plaza Chicago Metro Downtown and USA Fencing web site (sabreworldcup.com)
5 p.m.-7 p.m. – Registration& Weapon Control at Crowne Plaza Chicago Metro Downtown

Friday, 3 May 2013 ? University of Illinois at Chicago, Physical Education Building
7:30 a.m. – Weapons Control & Registration Opens
9 a.m. – Women’s Sabre start of the pools to qualification table
1 p.m. – Men’s Sabre start of the pools to qualification table

Saturday, 4 May 2013 ? University of Illinois at Chicago, Flames Athletic Center
8 a.m. – Weapons Control Opens
9 a.m. –Direct Elimination table of 64 Women's Sabre
1:40 p.m –Direct Elimination table of 64 Men Sabre
6:30 p.m. – Start of the semifinals and finals for both Men’s and Women’s Sabre

Noon – Approximate Start of Men’s Sabre TeamTable
6 p.m. – Start of Bronze and Gold final matches for both Men’s & Women’s Sabre

About US Fencing Association: The United States Fencing Association (USFA) is the recognized NGB for the sport of fencing in the United States. The USFA was founded in 1891 as the Amateur Fencers League of America (AFLA) by a group of New York fencers seeking independence from the Amateur Athletic Union. The AFLA changed its name to the United States Fencing Association in 1981. The USFA is affiliated with the Féderation Internationale d'Escrime(FIE), the international federation for fencing founded in Paris in 1913.
