Catch Des Moines Honored with Multiple Awards

Catch Des Moines received six different awards representing three national and state competitions. 

Their sports hype video and corresponding commercial spot, “Believe the Hype” won a platinum Hermes award (the highest honor), while their 2023 Visitors Guide took home a gold award. The Hermes Creative Awards are one of the oldest and largest creative competitions in the world, with more than 6,500 entrants and include other winners like Amazon and the NFL.  

“Believe the Hype” was also honored with two Telly Awards, with a silver for the :30 spot and a bronze for the full-length video. The Tellys are one of the premier national awards honoring video and television, with other winners including the likes of Netflix, Disney, and National Geographic.  

The Catch Des Moines Event Experience team was recognized with a Service Excellence award by iTIP (Iowa Travel Industry Partners), which recognizes an organization that has achieved significant success and growth by providing exceptional customer service. 

“We do a lot of our work behind the scenes to make Greater Des Moines look good, so it’s always nice to step out from behind the curtain and have our work recognized, both from a sales and a marketing perspective,” said Catch Des Moines President and CEO Greg Edwards. “To make some noise on a statewide, and even national level, against some big-name competition, helps validate all the hard work we do to shine a spotlight on the region.”
