The nationally ranked baseball team from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, will square up against Metropolitan State University of Denver, at Fitzgerald Stadium in Rapid City, South Dakota, March 16-17.

“With Rapid City’s location halfway between Sioux Falls and Denver, it’s the perfect place for these two teams to meet,” said Domico Rodriguez, Executive Director of the Rapid City Sports Commission. “Plus, we have an amazing stadium, steady weather and locals who love baseball.”

Augustana University is currently ranked number five in the nation; this will be the first time a nationally ranked baseball team has come to Rapid City.

The three-game series will take place:

  • Sunday, March 15: Double Header starting at 1 p.m.
  • Monday, March 17: Noon

Tickets are $8 per game or $15 for a series pass and can be purchased at goaugie.com/tickets. Sunday is youth day – all youth ages 3-18 wearing a baseball jersey get in free. Fitzgerald Stadium has seating for 2,500 fans, as well as an open grass area for watching the game.

“We’re looking forward to a beautiful two days of baseball,” said Tim Huber, Head Baseball Coach for Augustana University. “Playing in Rapid will be a fun change of scenery for both our teams. If you love baseball – or just want to enjoy the day watching college athletes do what they love – come out and join us.”
