GameChanger, a youth sports mobile app for video streaming, scheduling, communications, and live scorekeeping, today announced a multi-year partnership with Heartland Soccer, the largest youth soccer league and tournament host in the U.S. The partnership makes GameChanger, a DICK’S Sporting Goods company, the Official Scorekeeping, Stats, and Team Management Technology Partner of Heartland Soccer. Heartland Soccer coaches can use GameChanger to manage their team communication, score games, video stream matches for families, and keep stats in order to improve player development and performance.
In 2020, GameChanger released scorekeeping and live streaming capability for soccer and six additional sports. Since then, GameChanger has seen 300% growth in soccer games scored over the past year.
“Technology has made it much easier for youth coaches to organize their teams and stay up to speed on how their players are performing,” said Shane Hackett, Executive Director of Heartland Soccer. “GameChanger is at the forefront of innovation across youth sports and we’ve been impressed by how fast they’ve already been able to grow their app’s presence across soccer.”
Heartland Soccer reaches thousands of youth athletes and coaches a year and programs four world-class facilities: Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex (SOP), Compass Minerals Sporting Fields (CMSF), Swope Soccer Village (SSV), and Garmin Olathe Soccer Complex (GOSC). It hosts 15 soccer tournaments annually, many of which are ranked nationally in participation.
“We introduced streaming and scorekeeping capability for soccer under two years ago and it's quickly become one of our fastest-growing sports,” said Dane Menten-Weil, Go-To-Market Lead at GameChanger. “Having already worked with DICK’S Sporting Goods, we knew Heartland Soccer would be a perfect partner fit for GameChanger. We want to leverage our technology to connect more families through soccer and Heartland Soccer will help us do exactly that.
Heartland Soccer joins a growing list of GameChanger partners that includes Point Guard College Basketball (PGC), Little League, USA Baseball, USA Softball, over 20 state athletic associations and more. GameChanger was also recently named to Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies of the Year list in the Sports Technology category and the company is nominated for a ‘Best in Sports Technology’ award at this year’s Sports Business Awards hosted by Sports Business Journal.
