Go Wichita Convention & Visitors Bureau earned three awards from the Travel Industry Association of Kansas at the recent Kansas Tourism Conference.
Go Wichita earned TIAK Marketing Awards in the category of Community Awareness for its 30th Anniversary Annual Meeting Celebration. Go Wichita created an information and entertainment event that reported on the bureau’s work while at the same time showcasing examples of Wichita-area attractions.
Go Wichita also earned a TIAK Marketing Award in the category of Convention Promotion for producing a compact DVD featuring a short video about Wichita’s amenities and meeting facilities. The video is sent to meeting planners who have expressed an interest in Wichita as a host city.
“It is always gratifying to have your organization recognized for its work,” said John Rolfe, Go Wichita president and CEO. “Here at Go Wichita, we constantly strive for excellence in promoting travel and tourism for Wichita and Kansas.”
The TIAK Marketing Awards Program was created to honor individuals and destination marketing organizations that have made an impact on the development and expansion of the travel and tourism industry in Kansas.
The 2011 Kansas Tourism Conference was held in Lawrence, Oct. 17-19. This three-day conference offers a variety of educational seminars and workshops for travel and tourism promoters in Kansas
The Travel Industry Association of Kansas is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion and development of travel and tourism in Kansas.
