Heartland Soccer Announces Spring Tournaments

Heartland spring tournaments typically host 300+ teams, with competition traveling from 10+ states.

Kansas City Champions Cup, Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex, Wyandotte Sporting Fields: April 13th-15th, 2018 

The Kansas City Champions Cup is another large, early season tournament that consistently sells out. The tournament played host to over 400 team in 2017. This tournament offers four different levels of competition: Gold, Silver, Bronze and Recreational.  Teams have traveled from 11 different states to play in the Champions Cup.  Seeding of teams ensures that everyone can compete against opponents of their own ability level.  That makes this tournament an excellent early season opportunity for your team to test itself against comparable opponents.

Midwest Mothers Day Classic, Sponsored by Holiday Inn Express Shawnee, Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex, Wyandotte Sporting Fields: May 11th-13th, 2018

Last year the Midwest Mother's Day Classic reached a record number of 385 teams including international competition. Three levels of play (Gold, Silver, and Bronze) ensure that every team finds itself matched against similar competition. In addition to providing excellent competition, this newest addition to Heartland tournament series is formatted to be particularly family friendly. The tournament will be hosted at the Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex, where siblings can enjoy the multiple playgrounds, the skate park, or tennis courts. Mothers will be honored on Sunday, when each player will be given a flower to present to their mother.

Kansas City Invitational, Presented by Sporting Kansas City, Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex, May 25th-27th, 2018

In 2017 over 260 teams participated in the Kansas City Invitational.  The longer holiday weekend makes this the Heartland spring tournament that is least likely to have to turn teams away.

The three day weekend allows for easy travel and game schedules, and is free of league conflicts.  Your team will play against diverse teams from throughout the central United States.  The large tournament size and good seeding are sure to give your team well-matched competition.

All of these tournaments will be hosted at the Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex.  This nationally renowned $36 million soccer complex boasts 12 tournament-quality, synthetic turf fields complete with lighting for night play.  Amenities at this world-class complex include FREE parking, three concession buildings, a skate park, and basketball and tennis courts.  Aside from the game fields, the most used areas of the complex are the multiple playgrounds for young fans.

Wyandotte Sporting Fields: Wyandotte Sporting Fields is the newest state of the art soccer complex to open in the Kansas City area. The Wyandotte Sporting Fields are a 52-acre complex featuring four natural grass fields and eight cutting-edge synthetic turf fields that provide a premier, soccer-specific playing surface for all levels of play.

HOTELS: These tournaments are 'stay to play' tournaments.  A condition of acceptance into our Heartland hosted tournaments requires every "out of town" team to utilize one of the sanctioned hotels and book their rooms through Global Connections Inc. (GCI) using their online request system at www.GCITeamTravel.com.
