Heartland Soccer, the largest youth soccer league and tournament host in the United States, is excited to welcome back thousands of players and their families to the annual Heartland Spring Cup, being played this weekend (March 18-20, 2022) at the world-class Garmin Olathe Soccer Complex.
In its second year, the Heartland Spring Cup has already grown to be one of region’s top spring tournaments, attracting more than 145 teams from 8 different states including, Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and South Dakota.
With teams traveling in from all over the Kansas City metropolitan area and various states, the economic impact is estimated to be $2.1 million over the weekend.
"This weekend we welcome teams from all over the Midwest, giving them the opportunity to play at GARMIN Olathe Soccer Complex and our world class all turf soccer specific fields,” said Shane Hackett, Heartland Soccer Association executive director. “Now in our 45th year, we are continuing to experience significant growth in our regional tournaments as teams travel from across the Midwest to compete at all levels of play. We are excited to host thousands of soccer families this weekend.”
Considering the importance of local media to our sport, we encourage and invite the media to attend and cover the event! The first set of games will start at 5:30PM on Friday. Saturday and Sunday games will begin at approximately 8:00AM.
Up next for Heartland Soccer will be the Kansas City Champions Cup, April 8-10, with 450 teams registered.
