U.S. Figure Skating today announced its U.S. qualifying season schedule and calendar of domestically held international events for the 2024-25 season, including 2024 Skate America and the 2025 Prevagen U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
2024 Skate America will return to Allen, Texas, while Wichita, Kansas, will welcome U.S. Figure Skating’s pinnacle event, the 2025 Prevagen U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
“We are extremely excited to have Wichita host the most prestigious event on the U.S. Figure Skating calendar,” U.S. Figure Skating CEO Tracy Marek said. “Visit Wichita and the city have held several successful skating events in recent years, and we look forward to building on that foundation as they host the Prevagen U.S. Figure Skating Championships for the first time. As the top figure skaters from across the country look to win the biggest title in the U.S., Wichita’s INTRUST Bank Arena, walkable downtown and strong community support is the perfect host for our competitors, coaches, officials, families and fans. Plus, Wichita is a proven sports destination attracting major events in recent years, including countless NCAA men’s and women’s basketball events.”
Running Jan. 20-26, 2025, at INTRUST Bank Arena, this will be the first time the U.S. Championships will be held in Wichita and in the state of Kansas. “U.S. Figure Skating’s selection of Wichita to host this prestigious competition is an honor for the entire state,” Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland said. “While these elite athletes showcase their talent on the ice, Kansas will be on full display to the skating community around the world.”
U.S. champions will be crowned in Wichita in the women’s, men’s, pairs and ice dance events at both the junior and senior levels. Novice pairs and ice dance will also be contested.
“The team at Visit Wichita is beyond thrilled to have been selected to host the Prevagen U.S. Figure Skating Championships in 2025. It has been an honor to host four figure skating events over the last seven years, facilitating a strong relationship with U.S. Figure Skating and giving us the chance to gain the trust and experience needed to host U.S. Figure Skating’s most prestigious event,” said Susie Santo, president and CEO of Visit Wichita. “This is an incredible opportunity for Wichita to showcase our energetic and welcoming city to figure skating athletes and fans from around the country.”

“Hosting the 2025 Prevagen U.S. Figure Skating Championships is not only a win in terms of local economic impact for Wichita but will also be seen by a national audience and will provide a great experience for locals and people in the region,” Howell said. “We are passionate about creating incredible experiences for the athletes, fans and everyone who visits our city.
