The Louisville 10 and Under Tennis Association (Lou10U), in partnership with the United States Tennis Association of Kentucky (USTA KY), is offering free summer tennis camps to youth through its Let’s Get Competitive summer enrichment program. The camps will include an introduction to basic tennis techniques with six to eight hours of instruction by tennis professionals. In addition, Lou10U and USTA KY will hold tournaments for up to 64 middle school-aged players to compete in a stress-free, fun environment. The tournaments are open to anyone; participation in the camp instruction is not a requirement.
These beginner tennis camps and tournaments are free for Louisville-area youth ages 6 to 15.
- California Community Center: 1 – 2 p.m. on July 12, 19 and 26
- Portland Community Center: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on July 18, 25, and August 1, 8
- Shawnee Community Center: 2 – 4 p.m. on July 13, 20, 27, and August 3
- South Louisville Community Center: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on July 20, 2,7 and August 3
- Sun Valley Community Center: 9 – 11 a.m. on July 19, 26, and August 2
Tournaments: All tournaments will be held 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on July 22, 29 and August 5 at the West Louisville Tennis Club at Chickasaw Park and Central Park.
