Maine Sports Commission has shared the following news:

Pickleball facilities announce anticipated open dates

MSC has been in communication with owners of two future facilities, excited to support their vision:

Tony Miner, Maine Baseball Hall of Fame member, University of Southern Maine baseball alumni, two-time NCAA DIII All-American and former professional player for Cleveland, along with his family, will be opening The Wicked Pickle, a 24,500 square foot building located in South Portland. A ribbon cutting is anticipated by the end of 2024. This venue should be a home run!

Jeff Maguire, franchise owner, Picklr, 17 Main Street, Westbrook, has their eye on welcoming large competitions to this 64,000 square foot complex, in addition to recreational players use of the 19 courts.

Our team will be collaborating with Picklr ownership to bring a national tournament to Maine by spring 2025. Mainebiz covered this story on September 19, 2024.
