The Rivers Curling Club will be hosting the 2020 Manitoba Scotties Tournament of Hearts January 28 to February 2, 2020.
“The community of Riverdale is excited to be chosen to host this high-class event,” said Les Wedderburn, Host Committee Chair of the Rivers Curling Club. “The committee and volunteers are already starting the buzz and we can feel the excitement starting to build.”
The 2020 event will be the first time the Rivers Curling Club hosts the women’s provincial curling championship. Rivers previously had success in hosting the 2016 Canola Junior Provincial Championships.
“Rivers is full of dedicated volunteers and fans of the sport,” said Craig Baker, Executive Director of CurlManitoba. “We know they will do a great job in hosting the women’s provincial curling championship just as they did with the juniors and we look forward to their hospitality.”
The winner of the 2020 Manitoba Scotties Tournament of Hearts will represent the province at the 2020 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan February 14-23 at the Mosaic Place.
“Rivers is passionate about curling and we are privileged to welcome the province’s best curlers,” said Wedderburn. “Gimli put on an outstanding event this year and we are thrilled to follow up with another successful Scotties event.”
Tickets for the 2020 Manitoba Scotties Tournament of Hearts will be available for purchase in the fall of 2019.
