After a long two-year absence due to the pandemic, summer’s hottest festival is back, as Super-Spike, presented by Michelob Ultra, returns to Winnipeg this July 22nd & 23rd. Super-Spike, which takes place at Maple Grove Rugby Park, combines Western Canada’s largest outdoor volleyball tournament with a weekend long concert series, all set in a festival atmosphere. Ultimate Frisbee will once again be added as an additional sport that will run in conjunction with the volleyball tournament. Dance and pop are this year’s music theme, with Canadian stars Delaney Jane and Rêve headlining the main stage at the event.
Public interested in registering a team for this year’s event can do so by visiting superspike.ca. All Super-Spike tournament participants receive free access for the concert series and on-site festivities.
Super-Spike is thrilled to welcome back ‘Delaney Jane,’ a Canadian international star who is currently one of the most recognized voices worldwide in Dance music with over 117 million streams all time! Recent Top 40 hits include “Just as Much” featuring Virginia to Vegas, “Bad Habits,” and “Easy Go” with Grandtheft. Her newest single ‘Matinee’ was just released and is expected to be another chart topper.
Also headlining the main stage will be Montreal born, Toronto-based artist Rêve, who has had over 22 million streams this past year with her growing list of hits. Rêve made her major label debut in 2021 with her first single ‘Still Dancing’ via Universal Music Canada, and followed it up with Canadian Radio Top 40 smash hit ‘Control+Alt+Delete.’ Banx & Ranx featuring Reve also just released ‘Headphones,’ one of the most added songs in Canadian radio this past week.
Super-Spike, now in its nineteenth year, acts as a significant fundraiser with over $1.3 million raised to date for local not-for-profits. All funds raised from this year’s event will go to support Volleyball Manitoba and their grass roots programs.
